Challenge
ION-Sei offered a myriad of scientific and technological features such as its cleaning power of ion, compact shape, and different types of bristles. However, these features are limited in its ability to help a customer understand what it can do for them – the benefits. In order to describe the actual benefits of the products that entice the minds of the consumers, we had to transform technical explanations and features into a copy that speaks to the heart of the audience.
Execution
Throughout the website, we have communicated the benefits of the ions instead of just explaining the scientific notion behind it. In order to execute this, we have educated ourselves on the science behind “ion-technology” by directly asking the questions to the developer behind the toothbrush so we can rephrase the product benefits in a simpler and more concise manner.
For an example:
Instead of saying, "𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘖𝘕-𝘚𝘦𝘪 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴: 1. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘭 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 2. Market Research
When identifying the brand positioning when launching a brand, it’s crucial to develop a solid foundation based on market research. Before introducing ION-Sei to the market, we have interviewed a group of 30 people of all ages from 20-70 years old, to try out ION-Sei for 2 weeks and see if they recognize a noticeable difference in the health of their teeth and gums. As a result, they noticed not only the significant improvement on their oral health, but also pointed out its selling points such as its gentle vibration, modern design, and smart timer. We have incorporated these compelling differentiators and keywords into their website and package content as well as those that directly spoke to the potential consumers.
